ED Linear system
This system was developed for a plane driven by people within the framework
of my diploma work. The system uses the work of the strongest muscles,
substitutes non effective gear box and changes linear movement of legs
into twisting moment with these differencies to contrast gear box system
used for bicycles :
Advantages :
- it allows lower height of a cabin because of the linear movement of legs - mass saving in bigger distance from the driven wheel or propeller - possibility of pedalling in any extent (1 ÷ ∞ mm) - so called „dead position„ does not exist - the effectivity is about 25% higher
Disadvantages :
- about 10x higher acquired price than in a classical gear box - much more higher noise
